We hit some fantastic spots during our trip, but like any adventure, there were always a few places we didn't have time to explore. Our day started with a cup of coffee at Domestique Coffee. This charming coffee shop is a haven for coffee purists. We enjoyed their pour-over, which was rich and flavorful—a perfect way to start the day.

If you're looking for another excellent coffee option, don't miss East Pole Coffee Co., a local favourite. While we didn't have time to visit this spot during our stay, it's known for its expertly roasted beans and a menu that focuses on the quality of the coffee itself. We opted for a flight, which allowed us to taste everything from their signature Naked Pig Pale Ale to the Truck Stop Honey Brown Ale. The outdoor patio was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the afternoon sun, with great views of Birmingham's historic industrial district.

Our next stop was Monday Night Brewing. While its roots are in Atlanta, it's opened a second taproom in Birmingham, and it's quickly become a local favourite. Known for its bold and creative brews, Monday Night's atmosphere is laid-back and fun. If you're a fan of stouts, try the "Drafty Kilt"—a robust scotch ale rich with malty goodness.

Shopping Local: The Normal Brand and Antique Finds

No trip to Birmingham is complete without a bit of shopping. We swung by The Normal Brand for some Southern-inspired fashion that perfectly blends style and comfort. Whether you're looking for soft tees, cozy flannels, or rugged outerwear, this store offers high-quality pieces that fit city life and outdoor adventures. You won't leave empty-handed if you're a fan of effortless, laid-back style. We had a wonderful time meeting Joy, the associate at the store, and I walked out in a cute new outfit!
